Recently, CHN Energy's Dadu River Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station commenced the concrete pouring at the bottom slab of shaft intake tower for flood discharge, creating favorable conditions for the accelerated advancement of the flood control system project.

Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station’s spillway tunnel at spiral shaft is an important part of the flood control system. With a height of 187 meters and a diameter of 18 meters, it is the largest spiral shaft in China. Located on the left bank of the river-blocking dam, it features excellent hydraulic characteristics and a high energy dissipation rate. The intake tower for the spiral shaft is 18 meters wide and 37 meters high, equipped with flat emergency gates and curved working gates. The intake gate chamber connects to the unpressurized tunnel’s upper flat section.

The construction of this shaft project is complex, including many procedures and significant technical challenges. It is highly demanding of the requirements for the performance and construction quality of abrasion-resistant and impact-resistant concrete.
